Fuego Outslug Triggers 14-10

July 18 2023 Santa Fe Fuego defeated the Trinidad Triggers 14-10 in an eight-inning offensive battle. Santa Fe collected 12 hits and scored in seven of the eight innings, while Trinidad finished with 16 hits but committed five errors.

Santa Fe took a 5-2 lead in the first inning and remained ahead 7-5 through five frames. The Fuego added two runs in the sixth before Trinidad trimmed the margin to 9-7 in the seventh. Santa Fe then broke the game open with five runs in the eighth and held on after the Triggers scored twice in the bottom half.

Rafael Ramirez led Santa Fe with three hits, two home runs and five RBI. Parker DePasquale added two hits, a home run and three RBI, while Omar Ortiz went 2-for-6 with a homer and two RBI. Jared Fry drove in two runs and Caine Agis finished with two hits and one RBI.

Trinidads Jacob Mitchell and Jason Rooks each collected three hits. Peter Pena also had three hits, while David Arza went 2-for-4 with a home run and three runs scored. Quinterrious Arrington and Samuel Guillorme each contributed two RBI.

Brian Cantu earned the win for Santa Fe after allowing 11 hits and six runs five of them earned in five innings. He walked one and struck out four. Garrett Brown took the loss for Trinidad after allowing five runs in three innings. Kenny Stewart surrendered nine runs in 4.1 innings as Santa Fe built its late lead.
