Santa Fe Fuego Overwhelm North Platte 28-7

May 31 2024 The Santa Fe Fuego defeated the North Platte 80s 28-7, collecting 31 hits and scoring in eight consecutive innings. Santa Fe took a 3-1 lead in the first inning, added five runs in the second and held a 9-3 advantage after three innings.

North Platte scored four times in the fourth to cut the deficit to 9-7, but Santa Fe answered with two runs in the fifth, seven in the sixth, six in the seventh and four in the eighth. The Fuego finished with 24 RBI and took advantage of four North Platte errors.

Jeremy DiBartolomeo went 4-for-5 with four runs, three RBI and two home runs. Tristan Cavazos added two hits and five RBI, while Sean Bennett drove in three runs and Adrian Garcia collected four hits with three RBI. Dominic Scotti and Rodney Scarver each had four hits, and Greg Salazar contributed five hits and three RBI from the mound. Ryuya Enomoto went 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI and a home run.

Salazar earned the complete-game victory, allowing 10 hits and seven runs, six earned, in nine innings. He walked one and struck out 12. North Platte starter Trevor Nelson took the loss after allowing 22 hits and 15 runs, 13 earned, in five innings with one walk and two strikeouts.
