Blackwell Flycatchers Defeat Santa Fe Fuego 5-2

June 23 2024 The Blackwell Flycatchers defeated the Santa Fe Fuego 5-2 at Morgan Field, scoring in the first, second, fifth and eighth innings to secure the victory. Santa Fe scored once in the sixth and once in the eighth. Blackwell finished with seven hits and no errors while the Fuego had four hits and one error.

Blackwell received home runs from Markus Bracey and pinch-hitter C. Phillips. Bracey went 1-for-4 with a home run, one run and one RBI, while Phillips went 1-for-1 with a home run, one run and one RBI. J. Dice reached base three times with a hit and two walks, scored once and drove in a run. D. Burroughs and R. Salinas also recorded an RBI for the Flycatchers.

Matt Bataska earned the win after allowing two hits and one earned run in 6.1 innings. He struck out nine and walked four. M. Hickey and Kaden Kneip each worked a scoreless inning, with Kneip earning the save after allowing one hit and striking out one.

Cedric Reynaud led Santa Fe by going 2-for-4 with a double and a home run, scoring twice and driving in one run. C. Evans took the loss after allowing seven hits and five earned runs in 7.2 innings while striking out nine and walking five.
