8/24/2026-Connor Hickey Named Pecos League Mountain
Division MVP
Connor Hickey of the Santa Fe Fuego has been named
the Pecos League Mountain Division Most Valuable
Player after putting together one of the most
dominant offensive seasons in Pecos League
history.
Hickey captured the Pecos League Triple Crown,
finishing the season with an incredible .502
batting average, 29 home runs and 90 RBIs.
Hitting above .500 for an entire season is a
remarkable accomplishment at any level of
professional baseball, and Hickey combined that
consistency with tremendous power and run
production. His 29 home runs made him one of the
league's most dangerous power hitters, while his
90 RBIs demonstrated just how productive he was in
the middle of the Santa Fe lineup.
What makes Hickey's season even more impressive is
that he accomplished it while playing for a Santa
Fe Fuego club that finished in last place in the
Mountain Division South. Despite the team's
struggles in the standings, Hickey delivered an
MVP-caliber performance throughout the season and
established himself as the division's premier
offensive player.
Winning the Triple Crown is one of baseball's
rarest offensive achievements, requiring a player
to combine elite hitting for average, home-run
power and run production over the course of an
entire season. Hickey accomplished all three with
numbers that separated him from the rest of the
Mountain Division.
His .502 batting average, 29 home runs and 90 RBIs
earned Hickey the Pecos League Mountain Division
MVP award and capped an unforgettable individual
season for the Santa Fe Fuego.
