7/22/2026-Roswell Invaders Overpower Santa Fe Fuego, 26-10
The Roswell Invaders erased an early five-run deficit and rolled to a 26-10 victory over the Santa
Fe Fuego on Wednesday night in Roswell.
Santa Fe opened the game with five runs in the top of the first inning. Quinton Copeland, Alex
Elliott, Dylan Weddle and Andrew Ramirez each drove in runs as the Fuego quickly built a 5-0 lead.
Roswell answered with four runs in the bottom half, cutting the deficit to one.
After Santa Fe added a run in the second, the Invaders took control. Xander Nabors delivered an RBI
double, James Harris tied the game with an RBI single and Taylor Steig followed with a two-run home
run that gave Roswell an 8-6 advantage.
The Invaders scored in seven consecutive innings and broke the game open with five runs in the fifth
and seven more in the sixth. Christopher Martinez highlighted the sixth-inning outburst with a
three-run double before Nabors added a two-run home run.
Martinez finished 2-for-2 with a home run, double, six runs scored, six RBIs and three walks. Steig
went 3-for-5 with a home run and five RBIs, while Nabors collected three hits, four RBIs and two
runs scored. Sean Moore scored four times and drove in three runs, and James Harris and Carson Kirby
each recorded three hits.
Copeland led Santa Fe by going 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs. Connor Hickey, Elliott and
Terrance McGowan also finished with two hits apiece.
Austin Adair earned the victory for Roswell after throwing 2 1/3 scoreless innings with four
strikeouts. Dylan Weddle took the loss after allowing 12 runs, nine earned, over four innings.
Roswell finished with 26 runs on 20 hits and improved its record to 25-16. Santa Fe fell to 14-34
after scoring 10 runs on nine hits.
